Easy Drop Biscuits

When you don’t have time to roll and cut out biscuits these easy drop biscuits are a delicious, buttery and quick alternative.

Who doesn’t love a good biscuit?! How about smothered in butter and honey? Yes, please! But making homemade biscuits from scratch takes a bit of time. And you have to roll and cut them out. Not necessarily that hard but it can definitely keep you from making them very often.

These easy drop biscuits cut down on the time it takes to make delicious buttery biscuits. They are just as delicious as the cut out kind and so much quicker and easier to make. These will quickly become a weeknight staple.

Ingredients you will need for easy drop biscuits:

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbls honey or sugar
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, melted
  • 1 cup whole milk

Directions:

  • 1.) Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • 2.) In a medium bowl whisk together the flour, salt and sugar (if you aren’t using honey).
  • 3.) Melt the butter in the microwave or on the stove. If using honey whisk into the melted butter.
  • 4.) Add the melted butter and whole milk to the dry ingredients and mix together with a wooden spoon until it comes together. It will be a sticky, wet, dough.
  • 5.) Scoop about 1/4 cup amount of dough onto the cookie shoot leaving a small amount of space between each one.
  • 6.) Bake 10-15 minutes depending on the size. Make sure to check partially through the baking process.
  • 7.) Serve hot!

Notes about making easy drop biscuits:

  • Make sure if you are using honey instead of sugar to whisk the honey into the melted butter. It will be really hard to mix in otherwise.
  • Use WHOLE milk! Don’t use non-fat or low-fat. You are eating biscuits so enjoy yourself.
  • You can make these as large or as small as you would like. I’ve made them as small as 1/4 cup size and as large as 1/2 cup size. Make them whatever size you would like.
